What Piercings Are Allowed in Your Workplace?
And who decides? Many workplaces don’t have clear rules about piercings. Instead, they rely on culture. What’s already visible. What’s been challenged. What people quietly remove before interviews. The result is uncertainty. Some roles allow visible piercings without question. Others tolerate them only if they’re small, discreet, or hidden. Rarely is this based on actual job performance. More often, it’s inherited expectation. What’s interesting is how inconsistent these sta

School, Self-Expression and Piercings
Why self expression should always win. Schools often frame restrictions on appearance as preparation for “the real world”. Uniforms, hair rules, jewellery limits. The intention is order and equality. The outcome is often conformity at the expense of self-expression. Piercings sit right in the middle of that tension. Northern Ireland is undergoing an overhall in the way school uniforms are legislated, with maximum cost, supermarket alternatives and branded sports apparel all

The Piercing Calendar
Most piercing regrets aren’t about the piercing itself. They’re about timing. I never knew when I started my piercing business in Lurgan that I'd see such a cyclical calendar throughout the year! It's so interesting to see when the trends peak and trough through the calendar year. There's times when every second piercing is a child's ear lobes, at other times it's naval after naval after naval - then come the nostrils! Here's my guide on the best times to get a piercing!

Styling My Business Outfit
When I think about professional styling, I don’t separate clothing from jewellery. They work together, or they don’t work at all. My preference has always been a single, curated ear. Not symmetrical. Not overloaded. One side, intentionally styled, usually the side where hair naturally gets tucked behind the ear during conversation. It’s subtle, but visible when it matters. Small diamonds do a lot of heavy lifting here. They catch light without demanding it. They signal care a

Are Piercings Still Shunned In The Workplace?
The idea that piercings are inherently unprofessional feels increasingly outdated, yet it still lingers in many workplaces. Often unspoken, rarely written down, but quietly enforced through looks, comments, or “suggestions”. The question isn’t really whether piercings are acceptable anymore. It’s which piercings, how they’re styled, and who gets to decide. Corporate used to mean uniformity. Neutral colours. Minimal personal markers. Today, corporate environments are more di

Gold is the New Silver
For a long time, silver-toned jewellery was the default in piercing. It was neutral, familiar, and largely unquestioned. But quietly, steadily, gold has taken over. Not gold as in “luxury for special occasions”, but gold as an everyday choice. Warm, softer against the skin, and far more considered. I see it daily. People aren’t just choosing a piercing anymore, they’re choosing a look . From a professional piercing perspective, nothing has changed where it matters most. We st

Aftercare Advice
So you've been to Lurgan, Banbridge or Tandragee and we've pierced you already - you've had a great time, and it's been a lot of fun - what next? On the day of your piercing do not touch your piercing for the rest of the day. In general, the most important thing to remember is to touch, move, rotate or manipulate your new piercing as LITTLE as possible and to keep your hands clean at all times. The only product you should be using to care for your new piercing is saline.

Oral Piercings - what to do?
We recommend grabbing a 750ml bottle of water with a sports cap after your piercing and a bottle of any non-alcoholic mouthwash. Drink or dump half the water and replace it with the mouthwash so you end up with a 50:50 ratio of mouthwash to water. Carry this bottle with you everywhere you go and rinse and spit EVERY TIME you eat, drink, smoke or vape... or every 2 hours anyway!

Reviews on google
The following are some of our favourite reviews we've received on google for our three body piercing studios in Lurgan, Banbridge and Tandragee! " Ben is first class! I stupidly knocked my new piercing out and panicked. Ben replied to my message within minutes (even though it was after hours on a Friday evening). He told me exactly how to ensure it didn't close over, calmed me and arranged to see me the next day to reinsert the piercing. Best service ever, thanks Ben." " Ben
